Style
I'm a minimalist at heart, prefering to keep the tone of the photo at the level of mystery and nuance. Often, my portraits are centered around the subject's emotional state, and the backgrounds support the overall mood - never taking over - but always leading back to the people in them. In contrast, my documentary work can be gritty and forceful, and my landscapes are often muted by desaturated colours, and themes bearing the loneliness of broken towns, stark vistas, and abandoned buildings. In constrast I'm starting to use stronger colour in some images, and in many of my portraits. It all depends on what I feel about the subject and what I want to convey.
